We offer four programs under the Smart Choices for Youth, Inc. organization. Our goal is to offer a program to all children in need no matter their background.
OPERATION R.E.A.C.H
CCF Demonstration Grant
Serving Wayne, Wilson, Edgecombe & Sampson Counties
" The Vision"
In partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Smart Choices For Youth, Inc. has been awarded funds under the new Compassion Capital Funds Demonstration Program.

Operation R.E.A.C.H assist faith-based and community organizations with capacity building.

Operation R.E.A.C.H provides sub grants to qualifying organizations.

Faith and community organizations will use the sub grants to increase their sustainability and effectiveness to serve those most in need (e.g. low income individuals; homeless, elderly; and at-risk youth.)
Mentoring Children Of Prisoners (MCP)
National Mentoring Program Serving Wayne and Wilson County
Funded by the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services

MCP is a new innovative mentoring program that will serve children of incarcerated parents at correctional institutions and participate in probation or parole services in Goldsboro and Wilson, NC.

MCP provides a caring role model to children ages 4-15 in a one on one mentoring partnership, for 1 year, 1 hour per week.

Participants are derived from over 7.3 million at risk children who have 1 or both parents under some form of state or federal supervision.
Recover Our Youth
An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Grant Serving Wayne & Wilson Counties
Funded by Office of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention
What is Recover Our Youth ?
- The goal of “Recover Our Youth" is to use one-on-one and group mentoring to foster job readiness and education.

- R.O.Y. target group consist of youth “at-risk” from getting or staying involved in drug abuse, juvenile court, teen pregnancy, etc.
|
- R.O.Y. mentors are local adults, 18 or older, screened and trained, who model responsible behavior and enjoy being around young people.
|
- R.O.Y. mentors spend a minimum of one hour each week for one year with a young friend. R.O.Y. mentors develop a friendship with these young people, which impacts positively on every aspect of the children’s social and intellectual lives.

- Our SES curriculum is research based with proven results for increasing academic performance.

- Our SES curriculum includes a holistic, “hands on” supplemental reading and math program.
